Things of beauty...

I am generally wanting to give a cheery round-up of the week on Fridays and to dwell, just for a few moments, on some pretty pictures. This week, something has happened professionally that has left me so cross and disillusioned that I can barely stop the grrrrrr from leaping out of my keyboard! I will endeavour to get over it, but for the first time I am starting to honestly wonder if my relationship with my work has become unhelpful, unhealthy, un-me? I am compelled to consider whether I am doing the right thing in working; a point constantly revisited by working mothers who wonder 'is it worth it?' and has been the source of many a blogpost before this one.

Time to make a plan?

Meanwhile the weekend sees some much-needed family time. Returning to school has thrown the Boos into a spin as homework, routine and discipline become the order of the day following four weeks of sloth-like behaviour. It's been a tough week for all of us! Time to relax and try to think of sunnier days, easier times...

I have always been very attached to the past and its defining characteristics...is it time to apply this logic?

My new fave person, Keri Russell; I saw 'Waitress' this week and thought she was charming.

  5. It is awful when work is bad. Hard enough to run the house and family without stress on the workfront. I hope you have a great weekend.

  10. Sloth like behavior is the perfect description Lou! I am trying to anti-sloth myself this week. It has been tough going. I hope your work situation turns out the way you want. Don't forget that full moon that has been lurking about this week...have moon tears around here over the littlest things!

    What's a Virgo to do!

Best wishes Lou..for a lovely weekend...you images have set me right! Hope they did for you too :)

  11. Life is so much simpler when there are no choices to be made and you just do things because 'that's what has to be done'... Now don't shoot me here... but I sometimes look at the choices that women 'won' and wonder did we actually 'win' anything? We are now pulled between our careers and our kids... sometimes feeling inadequate in both... maybe it's just me, but it seems like a difficult balancing act, that few get right... or perhaps we could all get it, if we weren't racked by guilt... On a lighter note... the flowers in the jar are beautiful... the quote is so me at the moment, and I've sent my address to your mail account. Let me know if you get it, as I've sent it before but, for some reason you didn't get it. Have a great weekend... leave the work stress on your desk and enjoy the family! Lx

  13. Sometimes we have to stop and think why ~ oh why do we go thru this work thing....then I remember ~ because we are being paid!! I too had not such a great week at work ~ and became very disheartened with the whole thing. Of course I know that I am the only one that can change things so I either have to put on my "big girl" panties and make the change or as one of my coworkers said on Friday ~ just smile and nod....

Loving your selection of photos Lou and hope that you had a better week-end. xo
