Here we are again! Some weeks, Friday arrives and I feel like I blinked and the week flew by; today is one such Friday.
I have been thinking about childhood and how each stage of your children's lives seems to be the
defining stage. But then it passes and you realise that it was just one phase in the whole journey of parenthood. I have attended lots of school events this week and have observed the Boos standing amongst their peers. The realisation hits every time
how much they have grown. Especially my daughter, whose contemporaries have been by her side at her school since she was 4. To see them all grow up - how worldly and mature they seem now. And just to cement that view, Boo then returns home and asks me 'what is
antidisestablishmentarianism Mummy?'. Pipped to the post by '
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' for being the longest word in the dictionary, apparently. You have to think on your feet as a parent! They break up from school today for nearly a month....eeek.
A weekend ahead of more activities - I am longing for some quiet time. It's Mothers Day on Sunday so maybe then? I have tactically scheduled a
duvet day on Monday...can't wait.

I just love this buttonhole...the second I have posted lately...buttonholes should be worn more often I think.
Almost certainly, we will have some beach time this Easter holidays...
There is something about this row of scarves that I just love...
The bun: my new happy hair do - although mine will never be quite as resplendent as SJP's...
Daddy has been working alot lately...
Have a wonderful, restful weekend...!

Great photos Lou but I have to say, my favourite this week, was the hat that you posted on Twitter! Yes, you get Mother of the Year and I think in accordance with that honour you are entitled to a splendid weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI am having fun reading your Tweets....I am always on the run and do not have time to respond but just wanted you to know that you have a reader who smiles each time she comes across one in those volumes of words that scroll down my page!
Best wishes Lou...

Oh I love that dress Lou but I am afraid I would never be able to pull something off that cute! I love duvet days ~ I call them Jammie days or days a la Lori ~ it's all about me you know! This week did fly by and I dream of spring while it is snowing sideways outside my window ~ oh yes it is! Hopefully it is Mother Nature's cruel idea of an April Fools joke and I will awake tomorrow with my tulips in bloom.... OK ~ maybe not! Have a wonderful week-end and Happy Mother's Day! xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images as usual Lou. I especially love SJP's bun, and the buttonholes; I love that you call them that!! And a whole month away from school?! I know you will have just the most amazing time with the Boos :) You are a wonderful parents and mom. Let's catch up soon via email. So much to tell you!! xoxo
