Christmas things of beauty...

posted on: Wednesday, 21 December 2011

Hello! Soon to be Christmas Eve; I must admit I am not quite ready! Despite weeks of time to prepare, the big event starts tomorrow with a final shop for food and then a walk on the beach to clear out the cobwebs. The house smells of pine and lavender as I had a last-minute domestic goddess moment and made home made laundry powder (after being inspired by this). Anything that creates a production line of homeliness is good with me.

There is one crucial element missing and that is my husband who has been away since Monday. I think he's had about the toughest week so far in his career so I am looking forward to welcoming him home for Christmas. Without him, it all doesn't quite start...

So now the fire is lit, we are watching 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' after seeing the stage show yesterday. It's dark, wet and windy outside so time to hunker down! Enjoy...

  2. Dearest Lou - what a glorious collection of pictures. Also love the touching idea that Christmas cannot start without The Husband. And thank you for putting up the picture of the avenue; I can't tell you what a thrill it gives me to see my pictures on your lovely blog. Happy, happy Christmas. :)

  3. Beautiful images Lou....so Christmassy and so glamorous :)

Those colourful baubles of Paige's have been my favourites this year....and the Pigeon, the most beautiful dog indeed, I totally agree. Tania's photos are an absolute treat on even the most challenging of days, her views are stunning.

I wish you a wonderful Christmas, full of love and family and I know that's what you will have.

Shut out those thoughts and ponderings about 2012 for now....just for a few days.

Much love to you special girl XXXX

  9. Darling,

Thank you for some truly wonderful posts during course of this year. You write music for my soul Lou! x

I know that feeling of Christmas not quite starting without the whole family.. As you know my husband can't come to Sweden until Spring. We'll be fine up here as we'll be surrounded by family. It is worse for Marshall, but he has booked a trip to New Zealand and I know he will have a grand time too (whilst pretending it's not Christmas..).

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic New Year.

    Big hugs from Sweden

    xx Charlotta
