I just couldn't help but comment on the wedding day! Such a fabulous show; the most exquisite, elegant laced dress, the intimate smiles during the ceremony, the incredible pageantry. Catherine and William looked utterly in love, I found it very emotional and beautiful to watch. And the people outside, the flags, the bunting, the whole thing - a stunning wedding day. I am so proud to be British - an absolute jolt of patriotism for me. And, along with the rest of the world, Kate is my new favourite princess...
And my favourite things...best man Harry (
wow, isn't he just lovely?), William's unselfconscious words at the alter. How Kate demurely and with respect looked downwards, averting her eyes every time William saluted from the carriage, the lily of the valley; so of-the-season, so subtle. The two kisses, the respondent roars from the crowd, the fact that they did it
their way...Congratulations to the happy couple!
It was just perfect, wasn't it? I had a few sneaky tears in my eyes :)
ReplyDeleteI loved the trees in the church:-)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I was blown a way at just how beautiful she looked. So timeless. I had only said the day before, that if I were to go for any look, it would be Grace Kelly, as her pictures have never aged... I think Kate excelled even the beautiful Grace. Perfect. Lx
ReplyDeleteIt was the most lovely of days. Wishing them both a long and happy life together. Jude x
ReplyDeleteIt was so beautiful from start to finish, I cried!

I felt proud also Lou ~ so if I was bursting with it from over here I can only imagine what you were feeling. I have the song isn't she lovely running thru my mind right now ~ loved every single minute of it. xo
ReplyDeleteOh, I SO agree with all you have said!! And yes, it was just the jolt of patriotism that the country needed.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved the wedding, what a wonderful day, I was surprised by how emotional it made me, I cried SO much LOL!!
Catherine and her sister looked gorgeous, her dress was just perfect. She looked radiant and so composed all day long, she was amazing - she was meant to be a Princess I think and they are incredibly lucky to have her.
The Abbey looked beautiful, I loved the trees....Princes Harry and William were so touching together (I love those boys!) and so handsome.
Just fabulous :) xx
I absolutely agree with you, Loo. The ceremony was so beautiful and they are so in love! I am not British but I loved it too! I do hope the press allows them to have their privacy. M
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry, I spelled your name in a wrong way. I meant "Lou". I do apologize. Manuela
ReplyDeletewasn't it just marvellous - and she was (and is) so utterly gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteShe's so beautiful. I loved every moment of it.
ReplyDeleteI love me some prince harry! But yes, you are so lucky to be British!! I was up at 2am to watch the wedding and it was moving. Kate is not only my new favorite princess, but my style icon! I was just at the store thinking "what would kate buy?"

ReplyDeleteJust reading what you wrote bought a lump to my throat - again!
ReplyDeleteIt was such a spectacular event Lou - even sitting in my living room on the other side of the world I was so excited and in awe of the event - a truly incredible day to be remembered for a long long time. I do hope you have all had a lovely long weekend to soak it all in - you certainly turned it on for the world to see and as you said she is the perfect princess! Leanne xx
ReplyDeleteI couldn't think of a better place to be thru it all Lou! I went to pick up the paper yesterday and every single copy of every weekend paper was gone!
ReplyDeleteI sent out Mr. H on a secret mission today to find me a paper. Success!
It is now going into the memory books....such a wonderful occasion :)

Harry... Such a shame that little L wasn't born a few years earlier ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely wasn't it. And I love that image of Kate - she's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteit was all absolutely perfect. i was thrilled.
ReplyDeletei watched diana and charles' wedding on youtube last night (in bed at 1.20am!!!) and it was so sad. he was so unhappy. unlike william, i didn't see him smile once or look at diana with any emotion. and she was far too young to know what she was getting herself into. after watching the 1981 wedding, i realised how wonderful "wills and kate" really are and how much they love one another. i wish them many years.
Lou I wept. It was all just so wonderful and I wish them all the very, very best.
